Master plant: Punica granatum L.
Punicaceae (pomegranate family)
INCI: Punica granatum extract
The pomegranate is a symbol of fertility because of its core wealth. Naturalized in hedges and bushes, pomegranate trees are mostly found in the Mediterranean area. The original home of the fruit and ornamental tree, however, is Southwest Asia.
The inside of the fruit of the pomegranate tree (Punica granatum L.) consists of many small red seeds that are surrounded by pulp-like tissue. The extract is extracted with ethanol and water. The strong antioxidant properties of the pomegranate are based on the polyphenols it contains, including ellagic acid.
Characteristics and substances:
Our pomegranate fruit extract has a content of at least 50% polyphenols and at least 2% ellagic acid, exclusively from the pomegranate fruit.
