Candelilla wax is obtained from the leaves and stems of the candelilla bush (Euphorbia antisyphilitica). This bush is mainly located in the north of Mexico or in the south of Texas.

Candelilla wax is 40% hydrocarbon, especially hentriacontan. The consistency is rather firm. The melting point is 69 ° to 73 ° C. The color is brown yellow to yellow depending on the degree of purification.
Ideally suited as consistency regulator and co-emulsifier in cosmetics. Gives a nice shine.
