BIOBENE® Osteo-3 Complex is a dietary food for special medical purposes (supplemented diet) for the dietary treatment of bone atrophy (osteoporosis).

In the case of osteoporosis, there is a disorder of bone metabolism, which leads to a loss of bone mass. Consequences are an increase in the brittleness and the number of fractures, which can often occur even at low load.

Slow bone loss from the age of 35 is a normal, physiological phenomenon. In the case of osteoporosis, however, the shrinkage is particularly pronounced. About 600,000 to 700,000 people in Austria already suffer from osteoporosis or have a high risk of osteoporosis, and about one third of all women after the menopause is affected. About two-thirds of all women over 80 years suffer from osteoporosis. However, osteoporosis does not only affect women: men can also suffer from it! The ratio of women to men is about 3:1.

An increased risk of developing osteoporosis may be due to the following causes:

* Genetic causes: osteoporosis in parents, siblings; Low body weight; Athletic body * Lifestyle: smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, diet (Low calcium, high phosphate consumption, protein-rich diet without basal balance (e.g., vegetables), vitamin D deficiency, lack of sun exposure * Hormonal changes: early menopause, estrogen deficiency
* Age
* High homocysteine levels in plasma * Cortisontherapy

Directions:
2 capsules daily with a glass of liquid best to take to or after the meal for a period of at least 3 months. Do not exceed the daily recommendation.
